The high point for St. Wolfgangs was the introduction of their game of Gaulf, the ancient fore runner of Golf. Played with wooden clubs and imitation small animals (no animals were harmed in the playing of this game), the game featured heated matches between St. Wolfgang's members under the hot afternoon sun. The Duke naturally won, for his minions cheated better than those of any other player. With Shrewsbury behind us, it was time to carefully pack everything back into the storage unit, say our final good byes for the season, thank all the players who interacted with us, and wait impatiently for the start of the 2000 Renaissance Faire Season. A Huzzah to one and all for making this year's faire season such a rousing success. A special thanks goes out from your Webmaster to Becky Weston, who took a bunch of the photos contained in these pages of Shrewsbury Faire. Thank you Becky. |
