2002 Masked Ball - The Masque of the Black Stag -
a Wonderful Good Time!!!
Over 50 Members and friends of St. Wolfgang's Bavarian Guild gathered on Saturday, May fourth at the historic Autzen Mansion in Portland, Oregon, (a splendid example of 16th century Tudor styling but built in the early 1900s) for this year's third annual masked ball.
A wonderous board of food was prepared, including bread, fruits and cheeses; fine wine and awesome ale, soup in individual bread bowls, turkey smoked whole, salt-crusted prime rib;
followed by cake and cocoa.
This year, in the tradition of Saint Wolfgang - the patron saint of education - we shall be donating proceeds of the ball to the Madeline School in Portland Oregon to purchase art supplies.
Dancing followed dinner and everyone had a chance to get reacquinted after the winter break from Renaissance Faires. Below and on the next two pages are photos from this years masked ball.
